However, most of the old favorites are still there although Space Mountain was closed for 3 hours in the middle of the day for reasons unspecified. My favorite ride, although not the theme, was Splash Mountain which is currently offline for re-theming to do away with the questionable "Song of the South" imagery and basis of the ride and whilst I applaud the reason for the ride closing temporarily I regret the fact of it. We didn't partake of this but we did download the app for WDW which provides the very helpful and accurate information on attraction wait times in real time and this is super useful. Disney Genie is the new version which seems much more complex and costs money this time. They did away with the complimentary FASTPASS system and I, for one, regret that. Having said that, they were still long although less than an hour for standby typically. I assume therefore, they are keeping numbers down a bit and making the ride wait lines less horrendous. Even though we were there during spring break, and it was crowded of course, I don't remember it being as packed to the gunnels as I've seen it in the past. I like that they seem to have gone to a reservation system to control the numbers in the park. A few things note this visit since, to their credit overall, Disney NEVER rests on its laurels and changes things continually. Disney will relieve you of a lot of dinero to experience "the magic" but I have to say they still do it well. Honestly, it is not worth a long review of this ultra famous theme park of which billions of reviews have probably been written.
